Delegate Michael Vaughn represents Marylandís 24th Legislative District, which includes the incorporated Towns of Capital Heights, Fairmont Heights, Glenarden and the City of Seat Pleasant, as well as portions of the Landover and Mitchellville communities.
Michael Vaughn has served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since January 8, 2003. In 2006, Delegate Vaughn was appointed to serve as the Deputy Majority Whip for the Maryland House of Delegates. He currently serves on the House Economic Matters Committee. Del. Vaughn is also the Chairman of that committee's Science & Technology Subcommittee and Chairman of the Business Regulation Subcommittee. He is a member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and former Chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus' Foundation. He is also Co-Chair of the Task Force on Lending Equity in Financial Institutions Providing State Depository Services.
Del. Vaughn is a leader on small and minority business initiatives in the State. He has served on the Governor's Commission on Minority Business Enterprise Reform (2003); Co-Chaired the Task Force on Lending Equity within Financial Institutions Providing State Depository Services (2004-05); Co-Chaired the Task Force on the Minority Business Enterprise Program and Equity Investment Capital (2008); and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation. Delegate Vaughn has fought for the residents of the 24th Legislative District. Del. Vaughn has sponsored a long list of bills that have been enacted into law.
